This is why your sales strategy is not working
Why companies don’t generate sales and how they can change that
Many companies have a clear vision and a clear goal in mind: they want to sell, earn money – generate sales. Many of them have quickly realized that an effective method of achieving this on social media platforms is influencer marketing. However, for this to be effective and successful, there are a few points to consider. Here are potential reasons why your sales strategy isn’t working!
You do not reach your target group
On the different platforms – for example Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or LinkedIn – we encounter different target groups in each case. While people always talk about TikTok being “only for young people,” on Instagram, for example, we encounter a somewhat older and more diverse target group.
One reason why your sales strategy is not working is that you are not using the right platform for your target group. For example, if you focus on TikTok when your target audience is actually much older, you won’t make any sales here.
It is therefore important to conduct a precise target group analysis before starting influencer marketing.
You do not work with suitable creators
We all know: In influencer marketing, it’s not the “what” that counts, but the “who” – here, of course, we’re talking about the creators you choose for your campaign. The creator you work with is crucial for success in influencer marketing. If it doesn’t fit with you, your company, your values or your target group, success will fall by the wayside.
Especially the last point – “target group” – is extremely important. In order to carry out good influencer marketing, it is important that you choose a creator who addresses the same target group as you do. In addition, it is equally important that the creator maintains a close relationship with his community. If the community trusts him and positively accepts recommendations in the form of advertising, the chances are high that you will be able to generate sales with your company and that your sales strategy will work.
A pure sales focus does not work
At the end of the day, all companies have the same goal: they want to earn money, and therefore generate sales. However, if they only focus on achieving sales targets, the chances are slim that they will celebrate sustainable and long-term sales success.
After all, other goals that ultimately promote and stimulate sales must not be left out of the equation. These include reach, branding, and awareness. If these goals are also pursued via social media, the chances are much better that the sales strategy will also benefit in the long term.
